poor claire

last week, claire came home exasperated that her file was all wet and the ink on most of the pages had smudged.

the cause of it all?

the new helper, j had not tightened the tumbler lid properly for her, so that caused the water to spill in her school bag. the poor girl was really upset about it.

well, i told claire to inform j about it. instead, she kept to herself as she had no intention to add more stress onto her. somehow, my 2 girls like her, even though she might not be as smart as the previous one. maybe, it's her 'subservient' attitude, being new, i'd reckon. haha.

so,last night, i saw claire continuing to struggle with re-writing on those pages, after having hung them dry, with little complaints here and there. (thk gdness, it was her math file, so not so taxing like science).

this morning, i told the helper, with the impt msg driven that, sometimes, a small mistake on her part can cause unnecessary inconvenience to another.

i think claire is really sweet and thoughtful towards j. with my 2 girls around, there's no reason why j cannot settle in my home.

truthfully, she has improved. just this morn, i asked her,"why u slept so late last night? is there anything at home that worries you?"

she replied innocently,"no lah, mum, i'm just thinking how to do my job better!"

well, i gave her some words of encouragement to spur her on. in fact, i'm looking for a cheap radio for her, since she confided in my girls that the only thing that takes time getting used to here is, "no music". funny, right? who knws she might be the next superstar in my family, after the bundle of 'joy'.

anyway, like what my hubby said, give her time, but do get prepared to run the household without a helper. i will keep myself afloat with positive thinking.

one saving grace, at least i need not worry about housework, something that i hate the most.

  1. Poor Claire. Got to redo everything but still very sweet of her, to just let it be. She didn't even inf J about the blunder she made, she didn't blame her for the works she had to redo.
